This Sunday, CST’s security teams will work with the Metropolitan Police on one of the trickiest events in our annual calendar, the Quds Day demonstration. It is not a Jewish event. CST has long pressed for such a ban to be enacted. We have joined our Jewish communal partner groups in raising the issue repeatedly at meetings with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and with successive Prime Ministers, as well as with politicians and civil servants. CST strongly believes that Hizbollah’s long documented record of global anti-Jewish and anti-Israel terrorism means that it must be totally outlawed. Specifically, this requires the removal of the current artificial legal distinction between the group’s so-called ‘military’ and ‘political’ wings.

A n Argentinian police investigation has revealed that the prosecutor who led the investigation into the bombing of the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) Jewish community centre in Buenos Aires Jewish centre, was murdered and did not commit suicide, as previously claimed. The prosecutor, Alberto Nisman, was found dead, with a bullet hole in his head, on 18 January 2015. His death occurred four days after accusing former President, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, of masking Iran’s role in the deadly bombing of the AMIA Jewish Centre, which left 85 people dead.

Al-Quds Day, an annual demonstration established in 1979 by Iranian Ayatollah Khomeini, that takes place in cities worldwide, has long been criticised for allowing the flying of Hizbollah flags. In the streets of London demonstrators have chanted “We are all Hizbollah” and each year flags of the organisation, whose military wing is proscribed as a terrorist entity in the United Kingdom, appear on the streets. The flag features an assault rifle, so its meaning could not be more clear.

I wrote yesterday about the utter blind spot that most Western observers have shown to Sheikh Fadlallah's antisemitism, in their reactions to his death. That post was prompted by an obituary on the website of Hezbollah's al-Manar TV, which quoted with some pride the views of a…

Hezbollah's al-Manar TV has published an obituary of Grand Ayatollah Muhammed Hussein Fadlallah, who died in Lebanon on Sunday, and it makes for eye opening reading. According to al-Manar, Fadlallah encouraged suicide bombing, including against Israeli women and children; believed in a Zionist conspiracy to stretch Israel's borders from the…
