Awards for combating racism in football

11 Mar 2015 by CST

Samuel Eto’o and the FARE network were presented with the European Medal of Tolerance by European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation by president Dr Moshe Kantor at a gala event in London this week.

CST staff were present at the ceremony to reward Eto’o and FARE for their work combating racism and discrimination in football. CST works closely with the FA, Kick It Out and Maccabi GB to do the same in the UK.

The Medal of Tolerance is part of a wider initiative to promote tolerance and respect and reduce bigotry and discrimination of all forms in Europe.

“I’ve now worked with CST on and off for about 11 or 12 years directly, and in that time I’ve seen it develop into a really professional organisation – well-funded, well-organised, delivers on its promises, very challenging, there’s no messing about... But it has my support and it has the Police service of the United Kingdom’s support – great partner, it delivers what it says on the tin and it does its best to keep safe and share intelligence and allow us to move forward together.”
