BNP and Respect: spot the difference quiz

21 July 2011

The British National Party and the Respect Party lie at opposite ends of the political spectrum. So, this brief 'who said what?' quiz should be quite straightforward:

1. Which party's leading member has just posted this about "American/neo-con ‘Long War’ to create a "New Middle East"...US/Zionist plans" on his party's website?

...In 1996, to justify further increases in the [National Endowment for Democracy] budget, an enlightening report was submitted to Congress: “The US cannot afford to discard such an effective instrument of foreign policy at a time when American interests and values are under sustained ideological attack from a wide variety of anti-democratic forces around the world… [They] remain threatened by deeply entrenched communist regimes, neo-communists, aggressive dictatorships, radical nationalists, and Islamic fundamentalists. Given this reality, the US cannot afford to surrender the ideological battlefield to these enemies of a free and open society.”

An example of the tactics used by this "instrument of foreign policy" came on 28th of November 2006, when heads of state and government from 26 States met with Ministers of Defence and senior military brass from NATO in Riga, Latvia.

The meeting was used to build a European consensus in favour of the American/neo-con ‘Long War’ to create a "New Middle East". The purpose was to rally European political and military support for the US-led military adventure in the Middle East and Central Asia, and to the intimately related battle for oil and oil pipeline corridors.

In parallel with the Summit, starting on 27th November, the Clinton-linked George Marshal Fund Transatlantic Centre hosted the Riga Conference...

Reckless 'Long War'

...Among the high-flyers present were representatives from the Robert Schuman, Soros and Carnegie foundations, together with Zbigniew Brzezinski, Uzi Arad (former Mossad director of Intelligence) and a spokesman for the highly influential Washington-based neo-con Project of the New American Century. This think tank is perhaps more responsible than any other for the development of US/Zionist plans for the ‘Long War’ in which first Blair and Brown and now Cameron and Clegg have so recklessly embroiled us.

2. At the weekend, a leading local member of which party (ie BNP or Respect) shouted this at a Jewish pro-Israel activist? (And seems to have evoked approving laughter from her chums.)

Go back to bloody Russia

The answers can be found here (next to the photo of the oil digger) and here (at about 1 min 45 secs in).
