Chanukah at the Department of Communities & Local Government

13 Dec 2012 by CST

The Chief Executives of CST, the Jewish Leadership Council and the Board of Deputies of British Jews presented a menorah to The Rt Hon Baroness Warsi, Minister of State for Faith and Communities, at a meeting of the Cross-Government Working Group on Antisemitism today.

The menorah is partly to say thank you to all the government departments that sit on the Working Group for their work combating antisemitism; and partly in recognition of the fact that, while there are serious issues of antisemitism to address, British Jews have a great deal to celebrate.

“I’ve now worked with CST on and off for about 11 or 12 years directly, and in that time I’ve seen it develop into a really professional organisation – well-funded, well-organised, delivers on its promises, very challenging, there’s no messing about... But it has my support and it has the Police service of the United Kingdom’s support – great partner, it delivers what it says on the tin and it does its best to keep safe and share intelligence and allow us to move forward together.”
