Social media and British and international news outlets have reacted strongly to an incident at a synagogue in Stamford Hill early on Sunday 22 March. (See here.)
Contrary to some reports, this was not a mass antisemitic attack upon a synagogue. Rather, a street argument escalated into a larger altercation between people from a party and local Jewish residents. This ended up at a nearby synagogue.
The Police have called the incident antisemitic, because of remarks made by one or more of those involved in it. One person suffered what Police have called “a minor injury”.
