National Hate Crime Awareness Week, 10th – 17th October 2015
12 October 2015
National Hate Crime Awareness week, which was founded in 2009 to mark the 10th anniversary of the London Nail Bomb attacks in Brixton, is taking place this year between 10th – 17th October. The week is coordinated by the 17-24-30 NO to Hate Crime organisation, which was founded to remember those murdered in the Nail Bombs, and Stop Hate UK.
The aim of the week, as explained by 17-24-30 NO to Hate Crime, is to raise awareness of local hate crime and for people to discuss ideas about how people can work together to eliminate hate crimes.
Events are being hosted across the United Kingdom to mark the week, starting with the launch of National Hate Crime Awareness Week at St Paul’s Cathedral on 10th October 2015. To see other events which you can take part in, including the ACT Against Hate Crime Roadshow, please see the 17-24-30 website.
