Journalist films antisemitic abuse

9 Mar 2015 by CST

A journalist used undercover filming to record antisemitic abuse on the streets of Manchester and Bradford.

Jonathan Kalmus suffered several incidents of verbal antisemitic insults while wearing traditional Jewish clothing and being filmed by a colleague who was wearing a hidden camera.

The insults included “Fight the Jewish scum”, “You Jew” and “You're a Jew, not a Muslim...Jew, Jew, Jew run!” Kalmus was also spat at by one man.

These incidents are typical of the kind of antisemitic abuse regularly reported to CST. There are several examples in CST’s 2014 Antisemitic Incidents Report.

You can read more about the abuse directed at Kalmus here.
