My maternal grandmother, Helen, was hidden and saved by her Christian neighbours, who rightfully were later declared חסידי אומות העולם - Righteous Among the Nations. Finally, my maternal grandfather, Morris, survived the Warsaw Ghetto, as well as 9 concentration and death camps including Majdanek, Plaszow and Theresienstadt.
