Reds under the bed?

The Morning Star report on the increase in antisemitic incidents in the UK last year, based on CST's Antisemitic Incidents Report, makes the predictable claim that increases in antisemitism in European countries are a "direct result of Israel's actions" in Gaza.

As anti-racists, the Morning Star should know that trigger events do not cause racism; rather, they provide encouragement for racists to express their existing prejudice. But this is not the only part of the report which gets rather confused. Perhaps remembering that there were many Jews in the Communist Party in the 1930s - before the Party endorsed Moscow's 1939 alliance with the Nazis - the Morning Star describes CST as "the Communist Security Trust".
