Golders Green unites in opposition to Far Right demonstration

15 Jun 2015 by CST

Communities from Golders Green and further afield are joining together to make a unified and dignified stance against the Far Right demonstration planned for July 4th.

The London Jewish Forum, anti-Racist and ant-Fascist organisation Hope Not Hate and the Board of Deputies of British Jews, supported by CST, released a 'Call To Action' for all Communities to respond to. This urges involvement in a number of initiatives occuring before and after the July 4th demonstration.

The campaign was launched last week with a photocall at the Golders Green War Memorial, which was attended by politicians, clergy, community and civic leaders, and various activists. To view a snapshot of why people are supporting the campaign on YouTube watch Mike Freer MP and others here, Andrew Dismore AM and others here, Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner and others here, and Jonathan Arkush and others here.

“I’ve now worked with CST on and off for about 11 or 12 years directly, and in that time I’ve seen it develop into a really professional organisation – well-funded, well-organised, delivers on its promises, very challenging, there’s no messing about... But it has my support and it has the Police service of the United Kingdom’s support – great partner, it delivers what it says on the tin and it does its best to keep safe and share intelligence and allow us to move forward together.”
