  • CST Antisemitic Incidents Report reveals record number of antisemitic hate incidents in first six months of 2017

    CST's Antisemitic Incidents Report January – June 2017, published today, shows that in the first six months of this year, CST recorded 767 antisemitic incidents, which was a 30% increase from the 589 incidents recorded during the same period in 2016. This total of 767 incidents is a record for the first six months of any year. A further 483 reports were received by CST in the first six months of 2017, but were not deemed to be antisemitic and are not included in this total.

  • CST assists Home Office in formulation of new Hate Crime Action Plan

    Today the new Home Secretary, Amber Rudd MP, launched the Hate Crime Action Plan at the offices of Galop, the lead organisation behind the CATCH: Community Alliance to Combat Hate project. Though long in the planning stages, it has been launched following a surge in hate crimes being reported since the vote to the leave the European Union. CST had the pleasure of being invited to the launch this morning to discuss the plan with the Home Secretary, alongside community partners including Tell Mama UK and Galop.

    The Home Secretary, Theresa May MP, was the guest of honour at CST’s Annual Dinner in central London last night. The dinner is CST’s main fundraising event of the year. It was sponsored by Deloitte and attended by around 1,000 guests, including donors, politicians, Police officers, Jewish community partners and other supporters of CST’s work protecting our Jewish community.

People danced. Thousands descended on the Israeli embassy before hundreds made their way to central London last night, blocking roads and filling the streets as they partied.
