Last night, approxmately 120 new CST security volunteers graduated after completing CST training courses in London. All the new recruits were trained over the past 10 weeks and most volunteered for CST after the terrorist attacks in Paris at the beginning of January.
This follows around 100 new CST security volunteers from around the UK who completed their training in late 2014. In total, approximately 300 people have joined CST since last summer, most of whom have now been trained.
CST volunteers come from all parts of the Jewish community, male and female and from all parts of the religious and political spectrum. We are grateful to all volunteers for their commitment to help protect our community. The number of people who have volunteered to join CST since the terrible attacks in Paris and Copenhagen shows our determination as a community to stand up to antisemitism.
CST offers a variety of training courses to cater for different people who live and work in the Jewish community, and all our training is provided free of charge.
If you want to help protect our community, whether at your synagogue, your children's school or for the wider Jewish community, please apply here or visit our Volunteer page for more information.
